Born in Shiga, 1976. BFA, the Department of Scenography &
Display Design, Musashino Art University, Tokyo. Starting from the
response towards just a rubbish idea or what is deemed
insignificant in our everyday lives, Higashino develops his art
practice with diverse mediums such as installation, video, web,
performance and others in the name of Unproductive Production
Activities. Also He refers to himself as an Unproductive Production
Activist, apparently his definition of an artist. His work makes
visible the logic of this notion and the metaphorical visions often
derive from things that subliminally intervene in our daily lives.
They transform the ordinary world we overlook into one of
extraordinary nonsense.
