hobbypopMUSEUM was founded in 1998 and is based in Düsseldorf and London.
It consists of Sophie von Hellermann, Marie-Céline Schäfer, Christian Jendreiko, Matthias Lahme, Dietmar Lutz, and André Niebur. Each artist exhibits individually, and together, as a closely collaborative group, they produce site-specific installations with a strong narrative impetus. Employing a wide range of techniques and materials, multi-facetted image systems emerge in which large format canvasses, drawings, photos, sculptures, films or performances find an iconographic unity among themselves.
hobbypopMUSEUM's work has been shown among others at the Deste Foundation Athens, Kunstverein Düsseldorf, Tate Britain, Vilma Gold London, the Bonner Kunstverein, and Deitch Projects New York.
