Hellen van Meene (b. 1972 Alkmaar, Netherlands) studied at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. She has received international critical acclaim for her fictional intimate portraits of adolescent girls and androgynous boys. She began exhibiting her work in 1994 and is represented by the Yancey Richardson Gallery in New York, Sadie Coles HQ in London, Gallery Koyanagi in Tokyo, and Van Zoetendaal Collections in Amsterdam. Hellen van Meene lives and works in Heiloo, Netherlands.
