Theresa Hackett was born in Los Angeles, California, she studied Art at College of Creative Studies, University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) and moved to New York City and attended graduate school at Hunter College, receiving a MFA.
Theresa began showing in New York City, Los Angeles and Italy.
Hackett is a recipient of a Pollock Krasner Foundation Grant
and New York Foundation for the Arts grant in Printmaking/
Drawing/ Book Arts in 2009. She was nominated for a Joan
Mitchell Award, attended The Fountainhead Residency in Miami,
Printmaking Residency, Venice, Italy. Theresa has had numerous one
person shows and participated in many group shows and museum
projects, such as the Contemporary Museum of Art in Baltimore,
"NewView", Window installation.
Theresa is primarily a painter that has participated as well as
curated several projects throughout the years.
