Born in 1974 in Taranto, Italy, Massimo Grimaldi lives and works in Milan. Using a wide range of media, including photography, sculpture, text and digital imagery, Grimaldi’s practice investigates the role, formation and dissemination of contemporary art. His work critically engages with the seductive power of objects and images, addressing the complex phenomena of desire. By employing an aesthetics associated with cutting edge technology and high-end design, Grimaldi examines the clash between medium and message, violence and design, which characterizes the market and affects our daily lives as consumers, while also exploring the mechanisms that might render an artwork or a product obsolete.
