Amy Cheung studied art history and fine art at Goldsmiths College, and mixed media at Slade School of Fine Art.
She has initiated numerous large-scale installations, city interventions and public art projects both locally and abroad.
Meanwhile, she has participated in many artist-in-residency programs. Cheung was selected as one of Beck’s New Contemporaries in U.K., 1997; UNESCO -ASCHBERG Laureate in 2004; and was one of the three artists representing Hong Kong at the 52th Venice Biennale, 2007. Also in 2007, she received the Outstanding Young Artist Award (Visual Arts) by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council.
She has shown her work at the 2007 Venice Biennale, MoCA Shanghai, the Hong Kong Heritage Museum (China), Kaoshiung Museum of Fine Arts (Taiwan) and at Gertrude Street Contemporary Art Spaces (Sydney).
