What is it about your studio space that inspires you? Combinations, often contradictory ones, are what inspire me the most. I believe in constant transformation and am afraid of anything static. So I work in two places: one studio is clean, warm and inside my home; the other is outside, in a sort of barn, dirty and surrounded by trees.

Hannah Hallermann is inspired by the belief in constant transformation. Her work touches upon minimalistic ideas, such as site specificity, time and a powerful choice of material. She employs intriguing, often contradictory combinations in her work whose interrelations are visualized through alchemistic processes and a focus on sensual qualities.

Hannah Hallermann lives and works in Berlin. She studied at the École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts à la Villa Arson in Nice, France and obtained a Meisterschülerdiplom (Doctor of Fine Arts) at the HfBK (Hochschule für bildende Kunst/Academy of Fine Arts) in Dresden, Germany. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Mexico, Canada, and Europe.
