I was named Igor ŠevÄuk shortly after my birth in 1972 in the city
of Banja Luka in Bosnia, the former Yugoslavia. In the early 90's I
came to live as Igor Sevcuk in between various locations in the
Netherlands. After receiving my MA in 2000 from the Piet Zwart
Institute in Rotterdam, I was awarded first prize for film and
video, de Prix de Rome 2002. While living in Utrecht I further
developed my art practice throughout 2004 and 2005 at the residency
de Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. I moved to Amsterdam in 2010, where
I founded and co-organized the artist-led
space Goleb.
In 2015 I have initiated the development
project: Klupko-Room(s) &
Daily Art Situations.
I have presented my works at, among other places, Westfaelischer
Kunstverein in Münster, Art Space JungMiSo in Seoul, Kunstverein in
Frankfurt, Gallery Sign in Groningen, Living Art Museum in
Reykjavik, Public > (ex) in Paris, International Documentary
Festival in Amsterdam, Kunsthall in Bergen, Museum het Valkhof in
Nijmegen, Museum am Ostwall/ hART ware in Dortmund and Institut
Néerlandais in Paris.
