Alessandro Scarabello’s work is tied to drama, masks and staging. He currently focuses specifically on identity. Examining depersonalization, he attempts to understand how people, in contact with mass culture and the constant proliferation of images, change themselves to better adapt to reality, pursuing strategies, even instinctively and unconsciously, in order to overcome the atavistic fear of death.
Scarabello’s works have been exhibited in Europe and North Africa. He participated in the 2009 Biennial for Mediterranean Countries in Alexandria, Egypt; the 2010 Biennial of Tunis, Tunisia; and the 2013 Biennial for Young Artists in Monza, Italy. His works have also been displayed at the International Center for Contemporary Art (CIAC), Rome; the Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Rome; and the Contemporary Arts Pavilion (PAC), Milan.
Scarabello is represented by The Gallery Apart in Rome.
