BIOGRAPHY

Tina Gverovic (b. 1975 Zagreb, Croatia) is based between Dubrovnik and London. Gverovic works with installation, drawing, painting, sound and video. Her work – often in the form of immersive, disorientating installations – engaging with space, territory and identity and how these concepts are bound to invention and imagination

Gverovic completed a doctorate at Middlesex University in London and holds a BA in Fine Art from the Academy of Fine Arts, Zagreb and an MA from Jan van Eyck Academy, Maastricht. Recent exhibitions include: Tate Modern, London; Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Rijeka; SE8 Gallery, London; Busan Biennale, South Korea; Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb; Lenbachhaus Kubus, Munich; MUU Gallery, Helsinki; and Forum Stadtpark, Graz. She was the recipient of the Croatian  Artists Association Award (2005) and the Radoslav Putar Award (2006), and has undertaken residencies at Baltic Art Center, Visby, Sweden (2012) and ISCP –International Studio and Curatorial Program, New York (2006).

Tina Gverovic has been selected to represent Croatia at the Fifty-Seventh Venice Biennale (2017).
