Saul Sanchez was born in Bogotá, Colombia 1977. He has a BFA. from Academia Superior de Artes de Bogotá ASAB (Superior Academy of Fine Arts). Bogota, Colombia (2000-2005).
Sanchez's work has been focused on the study of space conditioning, both at a conceptual and formal level. Through projects developed from a pictorialist´s practice and its expansive possibilities, he attempts to deepen his reflections on learning schemes, the crossing between the hegemonic and subordinate experiences, and universes inhabited by power and its meaning. Furthermore, he is interested in the way painting can act as medium in constant motion, inquiring on its physicality as an object and its relationship with space.
Sanchez recieved the Young Artists Cycle Award,ColombianFrench Alliance, Bogota, Colombia in 2006.
