BIOGRAPHY

Gathering different materials and multiple formal solutions, the works of Ricardo Rendón act as a complex diary where the actions are registered, documented and accumulated. In this sense, a sheet of paper, a wood board or the exhibition space is transformed into a setting determined by the creative experience, an ambient where the work is presented as a fact and evidence of the creative execution. The works of Ricardo Rendón are an appendix of construction or destruction practices that enunciate the moment where things happen, forms that propose the action as leitmotiv.

Ricardo Rendón (b. 1970 Mexico City) received a BFA in visual communication from the UAM-x in 2001 and an MFA from the Escuela Nacional de Pintura in 2004. Selected solo exhibitions include the Museo Experimental El Eco, Galería Enrique Guerrero, and Museo Tamayo. Selected group exhibitions include El Museo Reina Sofía, El Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Videobrasil, Videolisboa, el Museo Experimental El Eco, el Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil y el Laboratorio Arte Alameda. He is represented by Galería Enrique Guerrero Gallery. Ricardo Rendón lives and works in Mexico City.
