Hilary Wilder (b. 1973 North Conway, New Hampshire) received an MFA in 2001 and an MA in Art in 2000 from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. She is also a recipient of a 2009 Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Professional Fellowship, a 2007-8 Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, a 2006-2007 John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship, and is a faculty member of the Painting and Printmaking Department of Virgina Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Selected exhibitions include Nearer to Thee, Open Satellite, Bellevue, Washington (2008), Canada and Other Stories at the Devin Borden Hiram Butler Gallery in Houston (2007); Courting Disaster at the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center in Atlanta (2006); and Sail to Bequia, Evening at Turtle Grove at the Devin Borden Hiram Butler Gallery in Houston (2006).
