Supergirl! Video Superheroine Exhibition

A gallery installation that focuses on the idea of the female super hero as an elusive and constantly evolving figure who battles adversaries, the environment, and her preconceptions, as well as herself. The heroines in these videos are intended to redefine and re-evaluate the constructions of girlhood and heroism.  Other themes addressed in the exhibition are irrational transformation, the body as a tool, physical transcendence, and hyper-sensitive awareness.  

Artists include Jenny Drumgoole, Kate Gilmore, Shana Moulton, Liz Nofziger, Rebecca Parker, Cintra Wilson, Saya Woolfalk, and Jody Wood.
