19 Solo Shows About Painting

Platform China, Beijing, Beijing, 03/12/2011 - 05/31/2011

展覧会について

This is Platform China Contemporary Art Institute’s first annual exhibition project. The show features 19 solo shows of artists whose artistic medium is painting. Every artist will complete and display his invidual work in his individual space. Each show will have its own title, theme and the artist’s curatorial and personal statement.

This project thus is an exhibition persenting 19 individual language systems. It is a composite of the discourse structure which establishes the form of this exhibition.

Here, we have made an attempt on the recognition of painting-in-itself or the construction of painting by means of the combined form of discourse structure, and also tried to understand and estimate a drawing by using compound observation methods. Painting makes up a discern system of diplopia vision on the clues of time and space which itself is able to counter-act its individual utterance system. In such systematic circumstance, the matter of oneself has no longer existed isolatedly but among all others and entire backgrounds, in which the freed and semantic structure is interdependent.
