Natasha Struchkova: Procrastination

ABOUT
Regina Gallery is pleased to announce the first solo exhibition of the artist that has managed to bring to life the idea of transferring to canvas pixel graphics - Natasha Struchkova. Her new project procrastination - a challenge to the information element, zombiruyut mind, incorporating messages of the top news and an endless stream of variegated flooding. To silence the media noise in my mind, the artist has collected pieces of communication from social networks and established poluskazochnye, polurealistichnye images that have become symbols of modernity.
In the pictures of Natasha guessed Struchkova stories about snow drifts, paralyzed traffic trunk of the rebellion at the Manege Square, an explosion at a nuclear power plant "Fukushima-1" and the inevitability of childhood vaccinations. At the same time, close to the grotesque virus, which is trying to fight the doctor, putting at stake the life of the child, and those heroes newswires, excited the general public, were the characters from the anime, Piggy and the symbol of the Olympic Games 2014 in Sochi Zoych. Embodying its paradoxical imagination, the author combines advanced digital technology with the classic technique of painting. Her artistic techniques that combine unrelated chain of events that made the paintings and graphics of interest to members of different generations.
Natasha Struchkova:
The artist is always to question whether someone what do I do? I? Others? Art? Every person? What I am doing? Reflecting on this question, I realized that I too sometimes find myself in a state of procrastination. I read messages from social networking, watching cartoons with the kids, watching the news, disgusted with the whole Facebook election results. But it is not pushing me into the main business of life - art. So I wanted to create work that will turn the other way around: does the most significant and insignificant activities will make shirking in the art. Here I have tried everything that was occupied by my head, all that came to me from the media, placed in a "factory" in the form makintoshevskoy games, media processing images that came to me during the whole time while I worked on the project . The composition resembles an unfinished architectural section. Her "torn" structure due to the fact that we do not have time to absorb the news to the end and see only a part, not knowing what events are actually a whole stand, and try to lay the whole picture. We are constantly deceived.
