BIOGRAPHY

Valeska Soares was born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil in 1957.  She received her M.F.A. from Pratt Institute, New York and a Bachelors in Architecture from the University Santa Ursula, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She has exhibited extensively in the United States and abroad. Upcoming and recent exhibitions include 28th International Biennial of São Paulo, Museu de Arte da Pampulh, Belo Horizonte, Eleven Rivington, New York, Daros-Latinamerica, Zürich, Art Gallery of Hamilton, Ontario,  and The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. Her work is included in the collections of the Tate Modern, London, MOCA, Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego, Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington D.C., Solomon Guggenheim Museum, New York,  CACI, Centro de Arte Contemporânea,  Inhotin, Brazil, and  CAC, Centro De Arte Contemporánea, Malaga, Spain.
