In Nancy Davenport’s photographs, installations and digital works, she has consistently explored architecture as a symbolic social space and the shifting relationship between individuals and institutions. All of her work has emphasized the temporal ambiguity of digital technology. Davenport’s most recent DVDs have explicitly explored the territory between photography and film; aiming to register the complexity of the present and seek its dimensions in relation to cinematic history. Her work ranges from multi-monitor installations, large-scale photography and on-line digital works.
