Jukka Korkeila is known as an artist who challenges boundaries in both the content of his images and his treatment of the tradition of painting. His paintings can be seen as being both harsh and fragile at the same time. His oeuvre includes paintings, installations and drawings. The feelings in Korkeila’s works range from humour to disgust, from despair to hope. In his recent works he has particularly used the recycling and layering of images and text.
